I’ve had a coach or training partner through almost every workout session since I started my fitness journey. A training partner can help motivate you and show you workouts you may not have thought of, but the most important thing a training partner can do is to give you an extra push in the gym. I believe in the saying, “You are a product of your environment.” Having like-minded people around when it comes to health and fitness is always going to be beneficial to keeping you on track to reach your goals, and when you surround yourself with friends who enjoy going to the gym, the positive “peer pressure” they give you can also help keep you motivated.

Some of the exercises where it helps to have a training partner include:

  • Abs: crunches, leg raises
  • Legs: lunges, hamstring training
  • Shoulders: lateral raises
  • Back: pullups
  • Cardiovascular training

These are just a few examples of exercises you can do with a training partner, but the list is endless, and even if your training partner isn’t spotting or helping you, they can be giving you the motivation you need to push for that last rep when it counts the most. And, of course, having someone who can help you with preparing meals and staying on track is always a huge plus.

Stay healthy!
